Writers start with current government and public-health agency material when it directly answers the question. Relevant professional clinical guidelines come next, followed by peer-reviewed systematic reviews, trials, and other research appropriate to the type of claim.

No source type is automatically sufficient for every statement. Editors consider publication design, population, uncertainty, conflicts, and whether newer evidence changes the conclusion. Secondary summaries may help orientation but should not replace an available authoritative source.

Hospital-provided pages or documents may support that hospital's published departments, facilities, credentials, contact routes, or stated services. They are labeled as hospital-primary sources and are not used by themselves to establish comparative effectiveness or broad clinical superiority.

Each governed source record includes the publisher, source type, the publication or update date when the source makes one available, and the date Cliniva accessed it. If no source date is visible, the record says so rather than inventing or inferring a date.

Editors prefer the current applicable version and check superseded, withdrawn, or corrected sources during review. An older source may remain when historically relevant or still authoritative, but the page must explain a material date limitation.
